Gov. Scott names Matthew Carter -as one of Three new FAMU trustees

Gov. Rick Scott made three appointments Friday to Florida A&M University’s board of trustees, filling seats vacated by the resignations of Lucas Boyce and Rufus Montgomery, and replacing Torey Alston, whose term expired in January.

The governor’s actions are the first in what could be several other changes on the board.

The seats of two other governor-appointed trustees, vice chairman Kelvin Lawson and Belinda Shannon will expire next month.
